Product description
Merbau (Intsia bijuga) is a hardwood from South East Asia, Papua New Guinea and northern Queensland. Its heartwood starts out yellow to orange-brown and darkens to a reddish brown as it ages. The grain is usually interlocked or wavy, with a coarse but even texture.
At 90x19mm, this board suits residential decks, privacy screens, fencing and other outdoor projects. Merbau is rich in natural tannins and oils, so expect some bleed when the boards first get wet. Protect nearby paving, render and concrete during installation and for the first few weeks after.
Boards come in random lengths, and the price is per lineal metre. Work out the total metres for your deck (number of board runs × run length) and allow extra for cutting and offcuts. Need help with quantities or want specific lengths? Call us before ordering.
